After getting to know Minami's backstory, he's now a gigachad in my heart. I pressed F to lay down respect for the fallen soldier. He honestly and politely accepted and rejected Akari's love for him while at the same time explained his feelings to her and learnt from her to try move on forward.

I didn't expect Minami liked someone else, I thought he had feelings for akari too, but guess that's not it, it's not like that i don't want akari to win, but shiori loves jirou well back long, since they both used to like each other they should end up together, shiori is a nice girl too. .

I mean to be fair... Yes Shiori is a nice girl, but she's had her opportunities and basically told him that it wouldnt go past being childhood friends. (if I recall correctly) but aside from that Akari is just a lot better for Jirou, Shiori is too .. Whats the word? too passive and too shy, which im not saying totally disqualifies her but it does raise Akari's chances with Jirou actually being successfull, as they both complement each other nicely and bring out a side in them that they normally wouldn't show. Shiori doesn't do that for Jirou, and neither does Jirou do that for Shiori.

Anyway this is just my perspective on it though.

Honestly attraction and compatibility is not black and white I think both are great matches for him but (and this is why we love this type of romance) we as viewers subconciensly or on purpose choose the girl we like more for ourselves. The whole debate which is better is free markting for the anime/manga

Shiori and Jirou are a terrible match basically because they're a bit too much alike. Both need a partner who is more able to take the lead/initiative. I can picture them as a couple and taking 4 hours just to mumble around and choose where to go out and eat. Akari is able to get Jirou moving where left on his own, he'd simply sit around and wait for something to happen. For Shiori, that role is played by her friend (short hair girl I forget her name lel) so she either needs to find a guy like that or take the yuri route.
